- By Michael Fornabaio and Dave Stewart

Yale cornerback Rodney Thomas II went to the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Thomas, who moved from linebacker to defensive back as a senior, broke up 11 passes in the fall for the Bulldogs and made 50 tackles.

He intercepted two passes in a 23-17 win over Cornell on Sept. 25 and ran back an onside kick 48 yards for a touchdown.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 196 pounds, Thomas was named All-New England and was a first-team AllIvy pick. He was honorable-mention All-Ivy at linebacker in 2019 with 39 tackles, seven of them for a loss.

“Excited for and proud of (Thomas) on this incredible accomplishment,” Yale coach Tony Reno tweeted. “The best is yet come for our #26!”

The Colts picked the Pittsburgh native 239th overall.

DARIEN’S STUEBER PICKED BY PATRIOTS

Darien’s Andrew Stueber won’t be far from home when he begins his NFL career.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound offensive lineman out of Michigan was selected by New England in the seventh round, 245th overall.

Stueber, who saw action at tackle and guard at Michigan, was an All-Big Ten first team selection and an All-American second team player as selected by the American Football Coaches Association in 2021.

He was projected as a seventh-round draft pick by many analysts and mock drafts.

Steuber had missed his junior season with the Wolverines in 2019 due to an ACL injury, but returned to play in six games as a senior in 2020. He used his graduate season in 2021 and started 14 games for a unit which received the Joe Moore Award as the top offensive line in the country.
