Mrs. Phyllis (Hickey) Pieper, 93, wife of the late George H. Pieper, passed away on May 27, 2022 at her home on Clintonville Road, North Haven. She was the loving mother of Sharon Pieper Lettick and her husband Steven of Branford, Kathleen Pieper Altmann of Fairfield, Richard Pieper and Roberta of North Haven, and Paul Pieper and his wife Wendy of Westport, and grandmother of Elaine and Rebecca Lettick, Alexander Altmann, Charles, Maxwell, Harry, Molly, Isabelle, and Eloise Pieper. She is also survived by her sisters Marjorie Locke of Somers, CT and Alice Vervilos of CA, and her lifetime best friend, Rose Geraci of North Haven. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Hickey, and a sister, Nancy H. Gaffney. Phyllis leaves many nieces and nephews who have wonderful memories of her and the time they spent together on the family farm. Phyllis was born in New Haven August 30, 1928, daughter of the late Raymond and Florence Geenty Hickey. She was a lifelong resident of North Haven, living in the salt box house on Clintonville Road for over 60 years. Her family was one of the founders of St. Frances Cabrini Church. She was an active leader of the church, helping to run numerous church activities including the holiday decorating committee and various fundraising events. She enjoyed working with George in the family garden center, creating beautiful flower arrangements and assisting their customers. The family would like to thank Homeaides Healthcare and their staff, particularly Vivian and Beverly who treated her like their own mom and who cared for her when she needed it most. They would also like to thank CT Hospice and their staff whose caring and dedication was a true blessing.
Friends are invited to visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. on Wednesday June 1, from 4-7 pm, and are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June
2 at 10:00am in St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Rd., North Haven. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery. Flowers are encouraged.
