Gloria A. (DeVito) Brook, 85, of Oxford, Connecticut, unexpectedly passed away on May 22, 2022. She was a loving wife of the late Paul Brook. Gloria was born in Wallingford, August 30, 1936, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Catapano) DeVito. In that capacity, she recruited American and foreign engineers and construction workers for major projects. Her career with Page also took her to Saudi Arabia, and the island of Diego Garcia. Gloria was gregarious in nature and made friends easily. Gloria was an avid tennis player and enjoyed performing on the stage. Gloria also lived outside of Washington DC for a time and in Delray Beach, Florida as a property manager for a timeshare resort in the late 1980’s. During her retirement, she and her husband, Paul spent their winters in Hilton Head, South Carolina and Costa Rica and their summers in Ontario, Canada. After her husband’s passing, she moved back to Connecticut to be closer to her immediate family. Gloria is survived by her sisters Annette Cella, Theresa Porto, Rosemarie Preneta, and her brother Andrew DeVito and many nieces and nephews. Following Gloria’s wishes, funeral services will be private and arrangements are being made under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
