A graduate of Hill House High, Walter was a longtime resident of West Haven, and throughout his life, he earnestly took care of his mother and family, worked hard, and made time to create treasured memories with those he loved. Upon retirement, he proudly volunteered at the West Haven Community House for over 12 years. It remained his honor to dedicate time and service to those who were physically disabled, or anyone in need. Ever the talented craftsman, he was delighted to put his woodworking expertise to use, specifically by inventing ways to make projects easier for participants. He developed a favored hobby of painting and looked forward to sharing his art with friends and family alike. Chiefly, Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, as well as mentor; and although he has passed on from this world, he will remain forever cherished by those who knew him.
