Virginia Lee Danley

-

Virginia Lee Danley, “Angel” age 58, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. We will miss your laugh, smile and how beautiful and strong you remained, never a mention of the pain you endured. A cheerful joking presence until the end. You gave cancer the fight of the century for two and half years. Virginia was born in Wheeling, WV on February 27, 1964, daughter of Harry Danley, Sr. and Clara (Holloway) Simpson, and she lived in Ansonia for most of her life. She worked at Lifetouch for many years and was a caregiver before she got sick herself. She was always very organized. Virginia loved thrift stores, cooking, and grocery shopping. She loved the outdoors, being in nature, and gardening. She also enjoyed soap operas, television game shows, NFL football and loved listening to WPLR. Most of all, her family and friends were the most important to her life and she would always put them first. She was an animal lover, especially the family dog Tank. While going through her treatment she loved to sit next to the fish tank at the hospital and see the beautiful fish which would have an uplifting effect on her. In addition to her parents, she is survived by four siblings, Harry “Hank” Danley, Jr., Heather Danley, Heidi Pardy, and Charles “Chachi” Simpson, all of Ansonia and her nieces and nephews Dennis Danley, Emily D’Angelis, Christina Chatfield, Justin Pardy, Dylan Pardy, Kylie Koskelowski, and Domenic Pardy, Thomas Dillon, Nicholas Dillon, Ryan Dillon, Kyle Dillon and her great-nephew Grayson Castillo, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Jennifer Lynn Danley. Friends are invited to greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm. Her funeral service will be on Thursday at 10:00 am in the New Life Church, 300 Elizabeth St., Derby. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family.
