Douglas Winslow Clark
June 1, 2022
Douglas Winslow Clark, 81, of Granville, New York, died on June 1, 2022, at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in New Haven on February 3, 1941, a son of the late Charles Kenneth and Helen (Gager) Clark. Survived by his loving daughter Laurie (Lawrence) Langello; sons Douglas Jr., Bryan (Mary Beth), & L. Kenneth (Denise) Clark; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Reynolds; as well as many nieces and nephews. Douglas was additionally preceded in death by his beloved fiancée Pamela Lockwood and brother Robert Clark.
Douglas was a talented automotive mechanic and owner of Clark’s Service Center for over 30 years, a passion that he passed on to his family and friends. He loved spending time with his best friend and soulmate Pamela. He cherished the outdoors and specifically loved boating, fishing, waterskiing, snowmobiling, and hunting. He looked forward to his annual trips with his hunting family. His true passion was farming, which he was able to do full-time once retired. He treasured his friends and family and adored his evenings after work with them, whether it was at his service station, farm, or home. In recent years Douglas treasured chasing and goofing around with his great-grandchildren, something he did every day. He was a unique individual, and everyone always knew where they stood with him. He will truly be missed, but his legacy and stubbornness will live on through his family. The Langello family would especially like to thank his RN Emma, his PT Michaela, and OT Murielle for all the love they showed Douglas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, June 7th, from 10 to 11:30. Immediately following will be a Time of Remembrance service, located in the funeral parlor. Interment will be private.
