GANG GREEN QB ON GREAT WHITE WAY
LOOKS LIKE Tim Tebow has a Wicked side after all.
The Jets choirboy spent his first weekend in the city on the Great White Way, taking in the hit Broadway show “Wicked.”
“It was really good,” Tebow gushed as he scrambled out a Gershwin Theatre back door after Saturday night’s show, holding a bottle of Nestle Pure Life water.
Asked why he chose “Wicked,” the Jets new QB suggested he did his Broadway homework. “I heard good things about it,” ” said Tebow Tebow, wearing a white white, form form-fitfit ting, V-neck top with three-buttons and blue jeans.
He hopped into a black luxury van outfitted with speakers and tan leather seats — and took off about 11:20 p.m.
Tebow’s female admirers were not disappointed. “He’s much cuter in person!” crowed Kristi Swartz, 50, of York, Pa. “Now, I’m a Jets fan!”
Tebow pulled off a nifty QB sneak on his way into the theater, slipping inside five minutes before the 8 p.m. show time. He first greeted all of the stagehands.
“He was a sweetheart, a real gentlemen,” one of them said.
Then, he headed straight for his seats in row L in the orchestra. His arrival went largely unnoticed by the audience.
But Massachusetts tourist Katie Page spotted him sitting directly behind her. She thought he was there with two women and one man. “He was very quiet. He was very demure. He was very respectful,” said Page. “And you know what? He watched the show. He’s very adorable.”
Afterward, Tebow went backstage to congratulate the stars. He told them it was his first ever Broadway show.
“He liked my performance,” said P.J. Benjamin, who plays Oz. “I hope I like his performance.”
Chandra Lee Schwartz, who has a leading role as Glinda the Good Witch, said Tebow was “very sweet.” “He seemed to enjoy it,” she said. Florida tourists Randy and Gina Gusikoski received a barrage of fawning Tebow text messages from their daughter soon after dropping her off at the theater.
“They’re freaking out because he’s here,” Gina said of her daughter Madden and her pals, as she waited outside.
As Tebow hit Broadway, his image loomed over New Jersey.
A billboard featuring Tebow rose above the Lincoln Tunnel on the New Jersey side this weekend, promoting both the QB and his endorsement partner, Jockey.
