A : Inspiration arrives at unexpected moments. Like all of my designs, I keep the theme in i mind so, as I’m inspired by the colors and shapes of the flowers, the overall concept takes shape. Q

: How long does a bouquet take to put together? A

: We revise the initial sketch into several more detailed drawings before we actually assemble the bouquet. We want to be certain of the flowers we’re going to use since, once you order those flowers, you better be ready to use them!

Q : Are there any unique challenges presented by working with the tropical flowers in this year’s show?

A

: Sourcing some tropical flowers at this time of year can be a challenge because they are not readily available. But I love a challenge!

Q : What are your favorite flowers to work with?

A

: I have to admit that I love to work with orchids. Their singular beauty and fragility are magical.

Q : Describe a favorite arrangement that’s in your home right now, please.

A : A constant presence in my home is a Phalaenopsis Orchid.

Q

: What can we expect next from Preston Bailey?

A : I’m designing a new collection of wedding reception tabletop items for Wedding star. Look for them this fall.
