Holy Rosary School
Where Students Reach for Excellence
At Holy Rosary School, a pre-K 4 through grade 8 school, students receive a values-ba sed education and are prepared for academic challenges. The school is proud of it s eighth grade classes; each year, Holy Rosary graduates are among those awarded scholarships to local Catholic high schools based on academic performance. Graduates have also been accepted to Regis, Xavier, Stuyvesant, LaGuardia and Bronx High School of Science.
In addition to academic excellence, Holy Rosary prides itself on the family-oriented atmosphere of the school. Many students are the children of past graduates; there are also beloved faculty members who have taught parents of students.
Holy Rosary offers early drop-off each morning at no charge, bus service and a hot breakfast/hot lunch program.
Holy Rosary enjoys long-standing academic success on New York State exams (math, ELA, science, social studies), ITBS standardized exams and the TACHS exam for entrance into Catholic high schools. All students take part in computer, library, music, physical education, art and Spanish classes.
Holy Rosary has continued its efforts to integrate technology into the classroom. All classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards, and this September a new technology room was opened with 20 state-of-the-art laptops for student use. Staying connected doesn’t end with technology.
At Holy Rosary, students reach out to the community at large. The school provides opportunities for service, including outreach to the local area nursing homes; food collections for the Little Sisters of the Poor for their Bronx outreach; a Christmas mission activity of donating presents for the residents of the Jeanne Jugan Center in the Bronx; and volunteering in the school’s summer enrichment and religious education programs. Many graduates also return to Holy Rosary to complete required service hours for high school.
The school collaborates with The Bronx Conservatory of Music to offer song, piano, voice and instrument instruction on the school’s premises. Students can participate in enrichment activities that include basketball, softball, cheerleading, choir and school band.
Holy Rosary is located at 1500 Arnow Ave. in the Bronx. For more information, call (718) 652-1838.
