Sacred Heart High School

Sacred Hear t High School in Yonkers is celebrating its 90th anniver sar y of providing a quality, co-ed Catholic education for teenagers from Westchester and the Bronx. Our Middle States-accredited academic program meets New York State Regent s and Core Curriculum standards with a 99% graduation rate. We offer National Honor Society membership, SAT prep classes, and both Advanced Placement and SUNY college-level courses (which provide considerable financial savings for the 95% of our population who go on to college). Our alumni have careers in education, law, medicine, business, technology and public service.

Our award-winning athletic program features girls JV and var sit y volleyball and basketball, as well as soccer and sof tball. Boys teams include JV and varsity basketball in addition to soccer and baseball. Other

extracurricular activities include art and social awareness clubs, newspaper, yearbook, choir and the Sacred Heart Players who perform a dramatic production each fall and a musical every spring. (“Anything Goes” is upcoming in April.)

We af ford opportunities for spiritual development through regular liturgies and annual retreats. In accordance with our mission statement, Sacred Hear t students devote thousands of volunteer hours to area churches, nursing homes, shelters, and hospitals. Community service efforts also include fundraisers to fight cancer, Thanksgiving food baskets, Toys for Tots, Midnight Run and Hudson Valley Blood Drive.
