Unraveling toxic tale

- BYBARRY PADDOCK andROCCO PARASCANDOLA

INVESTIGATORS are using facial-recognition software and leaning on the FBI and Interpol to learn more about the unhinged Swedish man who showed up at a Bronx police station toting a vial of cyanide, sources said.

They want to know if Jonathan Norling, 22, is actually an alias. Norling is not believed to be a terrorist, cop sources said, but he’s very much a mystery man, with a penchant for deadly chemicals. After he showed up at the 42nd Precinct station house last Friday, cops found more cyanide in his Cadillac, and another poison, abrin, in his Cruger Ave. home.

Police also linked Norling to a U-haul truck that was found illegally parked near his home in September, with a 9-mm. pistol and an AR-15 assault rifle inside.

Norling claimed to have a background in chemistry and expertise in computer hacking. He told cops he was trying to get even with an associate named “Max” — but later admitted that was a lie.

Norling was charged with unlawful possession of noxious materials and weapons possession, and is undergoing a psychiatric observation at Bellevue Hospital.

Norling was living with his wife, Mbene Ndiaye, 24, and daughter, Fatima, neither of whom was harmed by the toxins.

Ndiaye on Friday denied knowing Norling kept poison in their home.
