‘Extra’ helping

Two co-hosts replacing Maria Menounos

“EXTRA” IS doubling down with two new co-hosts.

Charissa Thompson and Tracey Edmonds will replace Maria Menounos, who jumped ship from the show last month for a bigger j job at E! T The pair will jo join longti time host M Mario Lopez on the glitzy sy syndicated H Hollywoodc­e centric info fotainment s show.

“Tracey E Edmonds is one of the most accomplish­ed television forces in Hollywood. She is already a star with A-list relationsh­ips,” gushed “Extra” executive producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey on Thursday.

She added, “Charissa Thompson is one of the quickest, sharpest and best interviewe­rs on sports TV and was born to juggle the demands of fast-paced television, From the moment I put Tracey and Charissa on stage with Mario, their chemistry was off the charts. They are generous with each other (and) they complement Mario.”

The duo start Sept. 8, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Thompson first appeared on “Extra” in April as a special correspond­ent, but her background is in sports broadcasti­ng, most recently on “Fox Sports Live” for Fox Sports 1. But Thompson has also worked as a host and sportscast­er with Versus, GSN and the Big Ten Network. Thompson co-hosted ABC’s celebrity diving competitio­n “Splash” and logged time at ESPN on “Numbers Never Lie” and “SportsNati­on.”

Edmonds also first appeared on on “Extra” in April. She owns a production company and appears on (and produces) the OWN network’s Deion Sanders reality show “Deion’s Family Playbook.”
