ACTOR SHIA LaBeouf transformed into a jerk, interrupting a Thursday night performance of “Cabaret” starring Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming, cops and sources said.

The “Transformers” star was “acting up” as he drunkenly puffed away on cigarettes inside Studio 54, grabbed the butts of several actors and threatened cops before he was hauled away at intermission, sources and a rep for the show said.

He was led from the Midtown theater crying and flanked by cops at about 9 p.m., authorities and a witness said.

LaBeouf continued his antics at the Midtown North Precinct stationhouse, where he started doing pushups as cops tried to calm him down.

“He’s cursing. He’s jabbering away. He won’t shut up,” a police source said.

Witnesses were stunned to see LaBeouf — whose movie credits include “Lawless,” “Disturbia,” “Fury” and “Nymphomaniac” — acting as whacky as Amanda Bynes, the actress whose bizarre public meltdowns made headlines late last year.

“Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of CABARET the musical ...” tweeted Tony-nominated composer Benj Pasek.

LaBeouf started his rowdy night tossing back cocktails at the Iguana Club — just two doors from Studio 54 on W. 54th St. — a wit- ness and sources said.

“He was sitting there s---faced. He had been drinking all day,” said John Sobel, 36. “I thought he was acting for some bizarre YouTube video.”

LaBeouf eventually made his way to the theater for the 7 p.m. performance — and quickly made a spectacle of himself, sources said.

The 27-year-old actor — who reeked as if he hadn’t showered for days — went backstage and “smacked some of the a---- of the cast members” he knew, a law enforcement source told the Daily News.

A source inside the theater said he was waving his arms wildly, shout- ing lascivious comments — and even grabbed Cumming’s derriere.

Cops were called to the theater to rein LaBeouf in, but the tantrum-throwing thespian flew into a rage and threatened the officers as he spit wildly in the air, police sources said. id

“He said something like ‘F--you. I will f--- you up,’ ” law enforcement sources said.

The dim-witted diva was dragged down to the stationhouse, where he kept up his childish behavior as he was being fingerprinted.

“He was very angry,” a source said.

LaBeouf was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass and was being held overnight. He’s expected to be arraigned Friday.
