WR Odell Beckham vs. CB Brandon Carr

-

Carr has had a hard time escaping images of Beckham’s catch-for-the-ages with him falling to the ground in last year’s game at MetLife Stadium. He says he’s moved on, that the Boys won the game. He’ll try to get physical with Beckham but Beckham uses his body so well, he’s going to win more plays than he loses. The key is, with Victor Cruz out, Dallas can roll coverage. Beckham must dominate for the Giants to pull an upset.

Giants WR Cruz (calf) and LB Jon Beason (knee) have been ruled out. The Giants had been hoping for Beason to be ready. Cowboys WR

Dez Bryant is supposed to be full-go after missing the last five weeks of the preseason with a hamstring injury. ILB Sean Lee is coming off ACL surgery but there are no plans to limit his snaps. DE Greg

Hardy begins his four-game suspension. “The Cowboys’ backfield situation is a definite concern but this is still the best offensive line in football and they match up very well against the Giants. Looking at last year’s films, they won the line of scrimmage by a yard at the snap. If they can get the Cowboys out of their two-deep look, (Tony) Romo will start working one-on-one matchups. Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo can’t expect to get pressure with the front four alone like he did his first go around with the Giants. Having Sean Lee back at weak inside linebacker will really help the defense, especially in pass coverage underneath against

Shane Vereen.” The Cowboys, as usual, have been over-hyped but no one in Big D will forget last year’s opener when they were destroyed by the Niners with Tony Romo throwing three INTs in the first half. You would not expect them to come out that flat or unprepared in this game. Eli Manning loves playing in Dallas (remember his signature on the wall at Jerry’s House?) but the Cowboys have won four straight in the series and have scored 77 points against the Giants in their last two home meetings. Hearing Jerry Reese brag that the Giants could put up 28 a game reminds you of Hal Sutton predicting Tiger Woods and Phil

Mickelson would shoot 58 in their disastrous Ryder Cup pairing.
