Warriors hold on

-

This was a game even the Warriors felt they should have lost.

Harrison Barnes hit a 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds remaining and Golden State escaped with a 108105 victory over the host Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

Klay Thompson had 32 points a nd Stephen Curry scored 23 for the Warriors, who nearly blew a 24-point secondhalf lead.

Draymond Green added 10 points and 13 rebounds for Golden State, which opened a three-game road trip — which includes a stop at the Garden to play the Knicks on Sunday — with its sixth straight victory while matching the NBA’s best start through 47 games. It ties the 1966-67 76ers, who also won 43 of their first 47. Isaiah Canaan had 18 points to lead the 76ers, who dropped to 7-41 but nearly pulled off the most improbable victory of the NBA season.

The Cavs won their fourth straight under coach Tyronn Lue, who was promoted after David Blatt was fired on Jan. 22. Cleveland came in 0-5 against Sa n A nton io, Golden State and Chicago, three top -t ier teams who f ig ure to contend with them for a title this season.

l DeMar DeRozan had 29 points and the Raptors beat the Pistons 111-107 to push the team’s franchise-best win streak to 11 consecutive games.

SEGURA TO D-BACKS

The Arizona Diamondbacks tried to boost their lineup, getting former NL All-Star shortstop Jean Segura in a five-player trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Diamondbacks also acquired righthander pitcher Tyler Wagner for righty Chase Anderson, infielder Aaron Hill, minor league shortstop Isan Diaz and cash.

Arizona went 79-83 last season, then signed free agent ace Zack Greinke and traded for All-Star pitcher Shelby Miller.

Diamondbacks GM Dave Stewart said his team was “seeking a little bit more offense.”

The Diamondbacks traded outfielder Ender Inciarte, who hit .303 with 21 steals, to Atlanta in the Miller deal.

SPIETH STRUGGLES

Jordan Spieth’s woes with the putter continued to stall his momentum at the Singapore Open as he fell five shots off the lead heading into the final round.

Returning to the Sentosa Golf Club shortly after sunrise to finish his third round due to rain delays on previous days, the world’s top ranked player missed his par putt on the 17th green, where he had marked his ball overnight, to drop back to 5-under for the tournament.

The American immediately regained the shot when he birdied the par-5 18th, but still lost more ground to leader, Song Young-han. Song birdied three of his five remaining third-round holes to lead the tournament at 11-under.
