No. 4 Kansas nips Kentucky

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Wayne Selden Jr. scored a career-high 33 points, including seven in overtime, and No. 4 Kansas beat No. 20 Kentucky, 90-84, on Saturday in the premier showdown of the Big 12/ SEC Challenge.

Frank Mason III added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Jayhawks (17-4), who snapped a threegame losing streak to the Wildcats (16-5) by winning their 35th straight game at Allen Fieldhouse.

NORTH CAROLINA 89, BOSTON COLLEGE 62: Brice Johnson had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the No. 2 Tar Heels (19-2, 8-0 ACC) won their 12th straight.

FLORIDA 88, WEST VIRGINIA 71: Dorian Finney-Smith scored 24 points, Brandone FrancisRam­irez hit three 3-pointers and host Florida upset No. 9 West Virginia in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

TEXAS A&M 72, IOWA STATE 62: Quiet for most of the game, Danuel House scored 20 points, including a go-ahead 3 late in the second half that sent the No. 5 Aggies past No. 14 Iowa State in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

PROVIDENCE 73, GEORGETOWN 69: Ben Bentil and Kris Dunn each scored 26 points, and the No. 10 Friars (18-4, 6-3 Big East) held off several second-half charges by the host Hoyas (13-9, 6-3).

SETON HALL 75, CREIGHTON 65: Isaiah Whitehead scored 22 points, hitting 9 of 17 from the field and 4 of 6 3-point attempts while notching six assists for the Pirates (15-6, 5-4 Big East). Desi Rodriguez scored 14 points with 10 assists and Angel Delgado had 13 points and grabbed 12 boards.

FORDHAM 78, UMASS 72 (OT): Joseph Chartouny had 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to help visiting Fordham to the OT win. The Rams (128, 3-6 Atlantic 10) snapped a seven-game conference road losing streak.

HOFSTRA 70, DREXEL 64: Ameen Tanksley and Juan’ya Green each scored 15 points and visiting Hofstra spoiled Tavon Allen’s 33-point outing. Hofstra (16-6, 8-2 CAA) trailed by as many as 13.

COLUMBIA 55, HARVARD 54: Alex Rosenberg scored 14 points, including a buzzer-beating jumper, as the visiting Lions (15-6, 4-0) extended their best Ivy League start in 22 years.

ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN 60, CENTRAL CONN. STATE 49: Chris Hooper scored 15 points to lead visiting St. Francis Brooklyn. Yunus Hopkinson added 14 points, including four 3-pointers and Tyreek Jewell hauled in 10 rebounds for St. Francis (9-14, 5-5 Northeast Conference).

WAGNER 73, MOUNT ST. MARY’S 63: Michael Carey made 11-of-14 shots and scored a career-high 26 points to lead visiting Wagner. Corey Henson added 14 points for the Seahawks (14-7, 7-3).

STONY BROOK 72, VERMONT 61: Jameel Warney scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds as visiting Stony Brook remained unbeaten in America East play. Ahmad Walker added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Stony Brook (17-4, 8-0).

MON MOUTH 73, ST. PETER’ S 57: Justin Robinson scored 18 points with six assists to help host Monmouth move to 17-5 and 9-2 in the MAAC.The Peacocks fell to 8-11 and 6-4. —AP
