Zinger pal Vujacic back with Knicks

- STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS Sasha Vujacic’s return is sure to make Kristaps Porzingis happy, if not Garden faithful.

Sasha Vujacic, whose greatest contribution to the Knicks last season might have been his friendship with Kristaps Porzingis, is extending his stay at the Garden. The veteran guard agreed to a one-year deal with the Knicks for the veteran’s minimum, the Daily News confirmed.

Vujacic, 31, played in 61 games (including 25 starts) last season and averaged 4.9 points as he tried to revive his stalled career. He was often the target of a hostile fan base as the Knicks lost 50 games.

His signing helps fill out Phil Jackson’s roster and gives the Knicks depth at the guard position. His deal makes sense for the franchise as he’s a triangle guy and cheap, and because of his close relationship with Porzingis, the team’s rising star.

Jackson’s offseason overhaul of the Knicks includes the trade for oft-injured ex-Bulls star Derrick Rose, plus the free-agent signings of Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings. Vujacic, a late first-round pick of the Lakers in 2004, spent his first seven seasons in L.A. He’s also played for the Nets and Clippers during his 10-year pro career.

NETS INK PAIR: After losing two key restricted free agents over the weekend in Allen Crabbe and Tyler Johnson, the Nets have spent the early part of this week filling out their roster for next season. On Monday, Brooklyn agreed to a one-year deal with point guard Greivis Vasquez, according to multiple reports. And Tuesday, the Nets added veteran power forward Luis Scola on another one-year deal, per several outlets. DAILY NEWS
