FOUR PEOPLE were killed in Arizona on Sunday when their van collided with a bus carrying employees of the Dallas Cowboys, officials said.

The horribly mangled van sat in the desert along U.S. 93, about 220 miles northwest of Phoenix, where it crashed at about 1:40 p.m. with the bus, which was headed for Las Vegas.

The victims were reported to be two adults and two teens. Officials said the van was making an illegal left turn onto the highway when it crashed into the bus.

To reach the victims, first responders ripped open the van’s roof. The crash littered the grassy shoulder with debris such as a shoe, a pillow and various items of clothing.

There were no players on the bus.

“All on the bus came through OK with some bumps and bruises,” Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said in a statement.

Arizona authorities lined the crash site, where the tour bus — emblazoned with the Dallas Cowboys star — could be seen with a shattered windshield.

The crash shut down at least one lane of the highway that serves as the main route between Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The bus was on its way to a Dallas Cowboys fan event in Las Vegas.

Charles Cooper, manager of GameWorks entertainment center in Las Vegas, said people were already waiting when the president of a local Cowboys fan club called to relay news of the accident.

The 3 p.m. event was subsequently canceled.

Cooper said the team mascot was supposed to appear.

After the Las Vegas stop, the bus was scheduled to go on to the team’s Oxnard, Calif., training camp.
