‘SUCH DIGNITY AND STRENGTH’

-

viously unveiled a similar renovation to the Liu family. Siller said they paid the mortgage and improvements with the $1.2 million they had raised over the course of 10 days.

Officers Ramos, 40, and Liu, 32, were executed Dec. 20, 2014. The officers were fatally shot as they sat inside their marked patrol car at Myrtle and Tompkins Aves. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, claimed he was targeting cops in several social media posts before the shooting. He fled to a nearby subway station, where he committed suicide.

On Wednesday, Liu’s parents also attended the event and took a tour of the new digs.

The Ramos’ home now has new ceilings in the master bedroom and in a downstairs common area, two fireplaces, a new kitchen with high-end finishes and 3½ bathrooms.

Siller and Ramos had recently returned from Dallas, where their foundations donated $500,000 to the widows of the slain officers killed there during a Black Lives Matter protest. About $10,000 came from Ramos’ foundation, Siller said. Deputy Inspector Sergio Centa, who worked with Ramos, said the improved home means a lot to the still grieving family.

“It means that they won’t have to worry about paying for their home in the future or any repairs. It’s beautiful on the inside,” Centa said. “They gave the ultimate sacrifice. They don’t have their husband, their father. We do what we can to step in.” SHOOTING DEATHS of law enforcement officers spiked 78% in the first half of 2016 compared with last year, including an alarming increase in ambush-style assaults like the ones that killed eight officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, according to a report released Wednesday. However, data from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund show that firearms-related deaths of officers in the line of duty are still lower than they were during previous decades like the 1970s. Thirty-two officers died in firearms-related incidents so far this year — including 14 that were ambushstyle attacks, according to the report. During the same period last year, 18 officers were shot and killed in the line of duty including three that were considered ambush attacks.
