S.I. roommate hunted in rape try

A 30-YEAR-OLD Staten Island man burst into a bathroom and tried to rape his roommate while she showered, cops said Wednesday.

Miguel Felipe ran off after the terrifying Tuesday morning attack and is still on the loose, police said.

Sources said Felipe is related to a friend of the 22-year-old victim and was living in the same apartment near Ebbitts St. and Hett Ave. in New Dorp Beach.

At about 9:15 a.m., the woman was taking a shower when Felipe got into the locked bathroom, touched her genitals and threw her to the floor when she tried to fight him off, cops said. He choked her, and when he let up, she convinced him to let her leave the bathroom, police said.

She ran outside and flagged down passersby on the street, cops said. The woman was treated at an area hospital and released.

Felipe (photo) is 5-foot-4 and weighs 140 pounds, police said.
