Top pick Lee signs

-

THE JETS have reached an agreement with 2016 first-round pick Darron Lee, according to a source. The last of the team’s draft picks to sign, Lee was also absent Wednesday when the rest of the team reported to training camp.

Though the total dollars in the rookie contract Lee will sign is set ($10.2 million over four years, according to a source), the 20th overall pick got what he was looking for in that all four years of the deal will be fully guaranteed — something each of the first 19 picks also received in their contracts.

Earlier in the day, fellow linebacker Erin Henderson said he understood why Lee wasn’t with the rest of the team for the first day of camp.

“You go out there on the field and you get hurt without having a contract, you never know where your career goes from there,” Henderson said.

MO MONEY

One player who isn’t facing any contract concerns — at least not anymore — is Muhammed Wilkerson.

The 26-year-old defensive end inked a five-year, $86 million contract earlier this month, and his teammates expressed satisfaction knowing Wilkerson’s situation was resolved.

“Mo’s a heck of a player for us,” center Nick Mangold said. “To be able to get him locked up, I’m happy for the organization, I’m happy for the team because he’s a fantastic player, and I’m happy for Mo. The fact that he has security and knows he’s gonna be here for a while as part of this team, it’s a good thing.”

DEEP BACK

The Jets are adding depth at running back early in camp, bringing veteran Bernard Pierce aboard amid injury concerns at the position, according to a source.

The veteran will need to serve a two-game suspension because of a DUI last March, and will presumably enter training camp behind Matt Forte, Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson on the depth chart.

In a corresponding roster move, Zac Stacy will be waived due to a fractured ankle that required surgery, according to a source.
