Don mocks Muslim dad of fallen vet

DONALD TRUMP rebuked the father of a Muslim-American war hero whose rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention asserted the real estate mogul has “sacrificed nothing.”

The GOP presidential nominee dismissed Khizr Khan’s powerful Thursday night address and instead boasted about himself. “I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard,” he told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an interview released Saturday. “I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs — tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I’ve had tremendous success. I think I’ve done a lot.” Trump refused to explain how any of that qualifies as sacrifices.

The question of sacrifice came after Khizr Khan (photo) electrified the DNC Thursday night by speaking about his late son, Capt. Humayun Khan, killed in Iraq by suicide bombers.

“Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery? Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing,” Khan said. His wife, Ghazala Khan, stood quietly by his side during the emotional speech.

Trump harped on the woman’s silence, suggesting she may not have been allowed to speak for cultural reasons.

“If you look at his wife, she was standing there,” Trump said. “She had nothing to say . . . maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say.”

But Ghazala Khan chastised Trump, telling ABC News later Saturday that she remained silent because she “didn’t feel anything except the pain.”

“Sacrifice — I don’t think he knows the meaning of sacrifice, the meaning of the word,” said Ghazala Khan. “When I was standing there, all America felt my pain. Without saying a single word. Everybody felt that pain.”

Cross words came from a familiar nemesis of Trump, Gov. John Kasich of Ohio.

“There’s only one way to talk about Gold Star parents: with honor and respect,” Kasich tweeted Saturday night. “Capt. Khan is a hero. Together, we should pray for his family.”
