to a stop in front of the New Settlement Community Center, its front end mangled and windshield spiderwebbed with cracks.

The four passengers in the SUV suffered bruises after all of the vehicle’s front and side airbags deployed. They were seen sitting on flower boxes outside the community center, telling police what had happened.

A resident who witnessed the aftermath said accidents in the neighborhood are common.

“It's a 25-m.p.h. zone and things still happen,” said the resident, who wished not to be named. “It’s crazy.”

No charges were filed against either driver, police said Saturday.

The crash occurred as the city touts its Vision Zero initiative to reduce traffic-related fatalities to zero by 2024.

But Transportation Alternatives, an advocacy group, has said the city probably won’t come close to that goal until at least 2055. COPS ARRESTED an off-duty MTA bus driver accused of socking a motorist during a Brooklyn road rage incident, officials said Saturday.

Jean Martelly, 46, was charged with assault following the Friday night blow out in Prospect Heights.

Martelly and his 26-year-old victim were stuck in a traffic snarl near Pacific St. and Washington Ave. when they began to argue about 9:40 p.m., police sources said.

The disagreement quickly escalated and Martelly got out of his car and punched the younger man in the left side of the face, leaving his victim with a split lip, officials said.

Cops were called to the scene and charged Martelly with assault. His arraignment was pending Saturday.

The bus driver made nearly $95,000 with the MTA last year, according to the website Seethroughny.net.

Calls to the MTA for comment were not immediately returned.
