Your dreams

- Analysis: Analysis: LET LAUREN INTERPRET YOUR DREAM!

In reality, my father died years back and my mother is now dying. I recently dreamed my husband and I were at my mother’s home where I grew up, when an earthquake or explosion occurred. One wall started to crack and the front part of the house no longer had a roof. I looked outside through a window and saw Gestapo-like men dragging people from their homes and shooting them. I worried we were no longer protected from rain and from the predators outside. Please decode this dream.

SHE CAUTIOUSLY SEEKS SELF KNOWLEDGE

yourdreams@nydailynews.com. Angela Clare, Springfield, Virginia

A mother’s home – especially a childhood home – represents an insular, protective outer covering much like a womb. As such, your dying mother is perceived as violating the sanctity of the home. Her eventual death is the earthquake that will bring down the roof and shake up your world. The crack in the wall is the veritable chink in the familial armor: It reflects feelings of vulnerability, instability and flux. What is feared is the breakdown of the nuclear family. In this view, death is the predator taking people from their homes. Lacking a roof, there will be rain – the sorrow you will feel after your mother’s death. I dreamed I placed a book on a table and walked off. When I came back it was missing. I was looking for the book and then found it lying on another table. It had a button on it that when pressed had light around it like an elevator button. What does this mean? Lorinda L., Manhattan, New York

Dreaming of books often reveals the wish for self-knowledge. The initial loss of the book, however, makes this a conflicted wish for introspection. When pressed, the light around the book button reveals the esoteric light from within. Perceived as an elevator button, the book is a symbol of that which raises one to a higher level. Apparently, wisdom is brought to the table only when you are pressed to do so. Send your name, address and dream details to
