Korean tapas are on the menu at (43 E. 28 St.) in Flatiron. Husband and wife team, chef Junghyun “JP” and Ellia Park, serve Banchan-style (Korean for side dish) small plates in this modern restaurant with minimalist decor. “Ato” means gift in Old Korean, which is fitting because small plates are placed in the middle of the table like presents, served with rice. Some of the best are the pork jowl, steak tartare and mackerel. Savor them with a bubbly glass of cava. a fast-casual take on Latin-inspired fare, has opened for breakfast and lunch inside Peruvian restaurant and pisco bar (43 W. 24th St.). Guests get a customizab­le bowl (below) and choose a base (brown rice, quinoa, greens or zucchini noodles); a protein like Peruvian chicken or steak; veggies and toppings. The menu also features organic arepas, homemade white corn cakes topped with fixings like goat cheese and smoked salmon.

Father-son duo Valdo and Mike Celic are opening a contempora­ry Italian restaurant in Long Island City, Queens (41-17 Crescent St.), on Wednesday. Oro, which means “gold” in Italian, will serve up inventive takes on pasta like quinoa rigatoni with basil in a pepperoni ragu; and roasted spaghetti squash in a vegetable bolognese.
