Flipping nuts to rip Gabby
Wreally excited to have the “Final Five” on our show this week. Hoda saw them a bunch in Rio while she was out covering the Olympics. And KLG has known Gabby Douglas and her mom for awhile. We love Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles, Madison Kocian and Douglas (below) and the joy they brought to so many people watching them. And we couldn’t be more proud of who they are and what they have achieved. As for the haters who were ripping Douglas on social media: back off. These ladies aren’t just gold medalists, they have hearts of gold, too.
I think it’s ridiculous that she was being maligned for not putting her hand on her heart during the national anthem, especially when they showed other athletes doing the same thing.
She’s from a military family. They stand at attention. There’s no law that says you have to cover your heart. Sure, KFC is Kathie Lee’s favorite fast food chain. But she’s in no hurry to smell like the fried chicken she likes to eat every now and again. The Colonel released a limited run of extra crispy scented sunscreen - yes, sunscreen that’s already sold out.
I don’t want to smell like KFC. I like the chicken - it was one of Frank’s favorite things! - but I don’t want to smell like it. Actually, I don’t like the Extra Crispy I just don’t understand why people would pile on her on Twitter like that. It’s so cruel. And so unfair. Gabby was at my house for lunch on Monday and we had the best, best time. And if she didn’t have her very strong faith in the Lord, who knows what shape she would be in. She’s a very devout girl, she’s very real and she’s one of the greatest gymnasts the world has ever seen. And she should be treated with the respect she deserves. Totally agree. 100%. She wasn’t being disrespectful. It’s not like she had a hat on and was sitting on the ground. It was obviously a big, moving moment for her and who is to decide how she should approach that. Everyone has their own way of showing respect and I just find it weird that people were so quick to say, ‘oh, gotcha’ about something like this. And shame on everyone for repeating it and piling on. It bothered me so much. She’s one of the finest young women I’ve ever met. recipe as much, I like the original. What if they make the original scent? No, I still don’t want to smell like a chicken, OK? Can you imagine someone walking by you, smelling like fried chicken? I don’t want to. Coconut we can talk – anything tropical is fine. But slathering on the scent of fried chicken? Nasty. That’s Prof. Banks, to you. Supermodel Tyra Banks is taking her talents to Stanford. The former “America’s Next Top Model” host will teach the MBA level “Project You: Building and Extending your Personal Brand” at the top university, starting next year. In keeping with the theme, Banks announced the news on Twitter. We’re not signing up for a branding course just yet, but there are some celebs we would like to learn a thing or two from. I would want to take an acting class with Meryl Streep (inset, far r.). That’s a good one. Of course it is. I would take guitar lessons with Blake Shelton (below). We’d have to start all over, from the very beginning, because I don’t remember anything. Oh yeah, I bet you’d need lots of extra lessons and special oneon-one time. What? I just want to learn how to play the guitar! Sure you do.
