fighter and I feel a lot of respect for them,” he said at the film’s Chelsea premiere. “Whenever you become a fighter it changes the way you walk in the street, you can’t do it in the same way. You know things that some people don’t and with that comes a responsibility.”

Nand have also had that job. yoga community is all bent out of shape about brother. Although yoga teacher, actor and celebrity sibling is ready for his close up, some yoga practitioners insist he’s a downward facing dirty dog that they don’t want to see on the big screen. Last weekend, Thurman - the younger brother of award winning actress Uma - began filming on a movie called “Smoke Screen,” where he’ll play a gun wielding tough guy. But members of New York’s yoga community are still in knots about Thurman after - a former student at the yoga school where he was one of her instructors - alleged in 2014 that Thurman is an untreated sex addict who “needs professional help.” “I’m infuriated to see Dechen posing on Facebook with firearms, while totally thumbing his nose at all the Jivamukti Sex Scandal allegations,” one angry source who’s still steaming over Sliwa’s complaints told us. Sliwa, is a media law professor and former police officer who is also the sister of Guardian Angels founder She first claimed in January 2014 that Thurman had confessed to her that he frequently had sex with his students at the yoga school. Sliwa stood by those claims on Wednesday and repeated her disappointment that the school promised to check into her accusations, but apparently hasn’t taken action.

She has no thoughts at all on Thurman’s latest foray into acting.

The Jivamukti Yoga School confirmed that Thurman is still an instructor there, but didn’t immediately address Sliwa’s complaint. Thurman’s lawyer at the time reportedly pointed out that Sliwa was the only student at the school to have complained about Thurman.

“Smoke Screen” director confirms that Thurman signed on to the cast last week and says that he’s gotten along well with everyone so far.

“No one has been upset on set,” Buttimer insisted. “He’s been great.”

Buttimer said that Thurman’s character “has a ‘Reservoir Dogs’ thing going on,” but cheerfully declined to explain how that jibed with his star’s day job as a yoga instructor.

The indie film, which has been in production for three years, is expected to be released in early 2017.
