POLICE RESCUED a man and woman who jumped into the Hudson River north of the city after their boat caught fire Saturday.

The two were plucked from the waters near the village of Briarcliff Manor — roughly 30 miles north of the city — about 5:30 p.m.

Westchester County marine unit officers spotted black smoke coming from an 18-foot power boat. The officers then pulled the man and woman into their police boat.

Police said neither was wearing a life jacket, and their names were not released.
