Facebook att’y ‘like’

A FEDERAL JUDGE, Facebook, and a top Manhattan law firm are friends again.

Last week, Brooklyn Judge Nicholas Garaufis stomped on Kirkland & Ellis’ white shoes for sending a first-year associate to his courtroom to defend a mass tort lawsuit against Facebook.

The firm got the message and sent Craig Primis, a partner who has been cited as a “Washington, D.C., super lawyer,” and Facebook dispatched deputy general partner Paul Grewal from its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters to court.

Garaufis said he was sorry if his blistering comments were interpreted as a criticism of associate Thomas Aulden Burcher II, pointing out that his displeasure was with the firm.

Primis said Facebook will seek to dismiss the suit accusing it of allowing Hamas to use the site to incite violence against Jews.
