JOE NAMATH might want to walk back some of that Geno Smith criticism now.

A day after the Jets legend tweeted out a harsh take that intimated Smith wasn’t all that injured, it turned out that the fourth-year quarterback had torn his ACL.

“If you’ve got a right knee injury keeping you out of the game why are you standing on the sideline the entire 2nd half? How bad can it be?” Namath tweeted during Sunday’s game.

Uh, Broadway Joe might want to leave injury diagnosis to the pros from now on. At press time, Namath hadn’t tweeted since news of Smith’s torn ACL came out, but the Super Bowl-winning quarterback might want to offer an apology to the kid who is now out for the year.

Smith responded to Namath after the game on Twitter. “Somebody tell Joe that the doctors have the final say on whether you can or cannot get back into the game... and also that I love him!” Smith tweeted.

Nick Mangold has a regular ankle sprain, said Todd Bowles, who said the team will have to see how it goes with the veteran center this week. Mangold got hurt early in Sunday’s victory over the Ravens and was replaced by Wesley Johnson . ... LB Bruce Carter hurt his quad in the game and Bowles said the Jets will have to take it “day by day” with him . ... Muhammad Wilkerson missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. “He had a couple days rest, I’m sure he’s feeling a little better but I’ll see on Wednesday,” Bowles said.
