EPA CLEVELAND — Would the Yankees have been preparing for the World Series had they held on to Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman rather than dealing the closers away at the trade deadline? It’s unlikely, though we’ll never know for sure. What we do know is that when the Fall Classic begins tonight at Progressiv­e Field, Miller and Chapman will be anchoring the bullpens for the final two teams standing, one of which will snap a lengthy title drought with the help of a dominant ex-Yankees reliever.

“(Brian) Cashman made that move, the organizati­on made that move because they felt it was the right thing to do; they’re entitled to that,” Miller said of the trades. “It doesn’t do me any good to think about what could have happened with the Yankees if all these other things had happened.
