The Throggs Neck Shopping Center is the latest development from Simone Development Companies of the Bronx. Simone’s properties include the Metro Center Atrium, a 370,000-sq.ft., mixed-use building, featuring LA Fitness, Applebee’s, Dunkin Donuts and Tatiana Day Spa and a 125-room Marriott Residence Inn — the first luxury hotel to be built in the Bronx.

Simone Development Companies is a full-service real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition and development of commercial, healthcare, industrial, retail and residential properties in the tri-state area. The privately held company owns and manages an extensive portfolio of properties from multi-building office parks to medical office buildings to industrial/flex space to retail centers. The company’s portfolio of more than 100 commercial properties exceeds five million square feet. Simone also develops a wide range of residential properties including high-end luxury estate homes, high-rise condominiums and restored Manhattan townhouses. Simone has excellent relationships with global, regional and local banks and has the ability to borrow funds for acquisitions on an expedited basis. The company also has valuable longstanding mortgage financing relationships with large Wall Street investment firms and major insurance companies. For projects that require specialized expertise or added financial strength, Simone has access to major equity and strategic partners. Simone’s retail centers, which are among the most successful in the region, incorporate high-quality design, attractive hightraffic locations and the right mix of retail tenants. Tenants include well-known national chains, as well as respected local retailers. Simone has the expertise and experience to design, build and manage thriving retail centers in today’s highly competitive environment. For high-quality stand-alone destination and “big-box” stores looking for completely integrated, prestigious locations, Simone will find and purchase an acceptable site, build and engineer to suit, lease-back the facility, and manage it long-term. Simone’s retail centers are located in the Bronx, Queens, Westchester, Long Island and Connecticut. The new Throggs Neck Shopping Center is a prime example of Simone Development Companies’ dedication to repurposing vacant and under-utilized commercial property in the New York metropolitan area. Simone Development Companies acquired the 7.9acre site in 2011. The property had been used as a Postal Service equipment transfer station for many years and had been closed since September 2010.
