Going easy on Russia risky, CIA boss says

OUTGOING CIA Director John Brennan blasted Donald Trump on Sunday for discussing the possible easing of sanctions against Russia, saying he “does not have a full appreciation and understanding of the implications.”

“Now that he’s going to have an opportunity to do something for our national security as opposed to talking and tweeting, he’s going to have tremendous responsibility to make sure that U.S. and national security interests are protected,” Brennan said on “Fox News Sunday.” He was referring to Trump’s suggestion, in a Wall Street Journal interview published Friday, that he could ease sanctions imposed by President Obama as payback for the election hacking. PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump praised Britain’s decision to leave the European Union on Sunday, and predicted other countries would follow its lead.

“I think Brexit is going to end up being a great thing,” Trump told The Times of London.

Trump said he would offer Britain a quick and fair trade deal.

He said the EU had been damaged by the migration crisis, and that other countries are likely to jump ship.

Since the Brexit vote in June, Britain has seen its currency plummet.

Trump also reiterated a plan to lift sanctions on Russia in exchange for a reduction in the country’s nuclear arsenal.
