Over Carmelo rips

-

his hands on anybody because he has a lot of people that look up to him, kids and everything, and I don’t want people to see that. But you can’t send a team of people over there for a person who shed blood sweat and tears for you guys. And I don’t know the details, if he was heckling James Dolan. But even if he was, so what? Because it’s Charles Oakley, he’s got to get that type of treatment? No. I think it was unfair.

“I think it affects (the Knicks) in free agency. Not only in that situation but all the things that have accumulated over this season. Phil Jackson going at Melo publicly. Like, what are you doing? You’re supposed to be on the same team. Like you’re supposed to be encouraging your brother and giving him some of you expertise and helping him become a better player. And it’s just an unfortunate situation. I feel bad for Melo. But he’s handled it so well. Me in that situation? It probably would be a different story.”

l Other finalists for the Hall of Fame are: former Villanova coach Rollie Massimino, longtime referee Hugh Evans, Connecticut star Rebecca Lobo, fivetime All-Star Sidney Moncrief, Baylor women’s coach Kim Mulkey, Kansas coach Bill Self and coach Rudy Tomjanovich, a two-time NBA champion.

GREEN ON ORANGE, BLUE

Draymond Green, who, more than any other current player, has fiercely defended Anthony while lambasting the Knicks, said Saturday, “The way (Anthony’s) been treated pisses me off.

“So that’s why I pay attention to it,” said Green, a teammate of Anthony’s on USA Basketball. “So I don’t pay attention to it, like, ‘Where is Melo going?’ Whatever is going to happen is going to happen and it really don’t matter. But like I said, I pay attention to it because of our relationship.

“I can’t say that I hope he gets out of New York, I just hope his situation there gets better or he ends up in the best situation possible. …The way he represents the NBA brand, it’s incredible. So I just want to see him happy. And if that’s in New York, then I’d love to see him in New York. If that’s elsewhere, then I’d love to see him elsewhere.”

There is a condition to Green’s support, however, and it stops if Anthony joins Golden State’s rival.

“If he’s with the Clippers, then I want to destroy him,” Green joked.
