JOLIE OPENS UP

Says ‘we’ll always be family,’ despite Brad split

AN EMOTIONAL Angelina Jolie broke her silence about her split from husband Brad Pitt, saying that despite the divorce they would “always be family.”

The actress and mother of six, who was in Cambodia promoting her film “First They Killed My Father,” opened up about how her family has dealt with the breakup.

“I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time, and we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it,” the 41-year-old told BBC World News.

Jolie brought all six children — Maddox, 15 Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 — to Cambodia with her for the press tour for the film she directed.

The “Maleficent” actress filed for divorce in September, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents the Daily News obtained.

Actor Pitt, 53, was accused of abusing Maddox aboard a private flight, but he was eventually cleared of all allegations by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI.

The couple publicly fought over custody of their kids afterward but swore in January to settle their divorce in private.

“Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family, we’ve all being through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children . . . and my focus is finding this way through,” Jolie said.

“We are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer.”

Since the split, Jolie, who reportedly left the family’s Malibu mansion in October, said she’s trying to find a normal rhythm for their new reality.

“Right now, I’m going through a moment when just everybody’s in my room,” she told BBC World News. “Two dogs, two hamsters and two children at the moment. It’s wonderful. But, usually, I just wake up trying to figure out who’s going to get (the) dog out, who’s going to start the pancakes and did anybody brush their teeth.”
