Sings song of joy over pending daddy-hood
GEORGE CLOONEY for the next act in his life.
The Hollywood A-lister said he’s elated about becoming a dad of twins later this year, his first public comments since Amal Clooney’s pregnancy was revealed.
“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure,” Clooney dished this week on the French show “Rencontres de Cinéma.”
“We’ve sort of embraced it all ... with arms wide open,” he added.
Clooney’s baby news was first reported earlier this month, and the is ready actor’s mother has since revealed that the 39-year-old Amal — an accomplished human rights attorney — is carrying a boy and a girl who are due in June.
It will be the first kids for George, who was long a notorious Hollywood bachelor who stressed multiple times that he never expected to become a father.
He’ll be 56 when the two bundles newborn.
“I do have something to tell you, but instead of telling you, I’m going to show you something,” Kotb said, before the precious photo was revealed by her NBC colleagues. “That little girl, Haley Joy — I’m crying — is my daughter,” Kotb announced over the phone.
“She’s a Valentine’s baby, so she’s a little nugget. She is the love of my life.”
Kotb’s partner in wine, fourthhour “Today” co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, said she managed to keep of joy arrive, but he says he draws inspiration from French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, whose wife welcomed a kid when he was 70. He’s now 89. “So, I’m feeling a little better about being 56,” Clooney quipped.
Amal, who married George in 2014, is also set to become a parent for the first time. She is yet to publicly discuss her pregnancy.
George Clooney’s “Oceans 11” co-star Matt Damon, meanwhile, said he got emotional when he first learned his longtime pal was going to be a dad.
“I was working with him last fall, and he pulled me aside on set, and I mean, I almost started crying,” Damon told “Entertainment Tonight Canada” earlier this month. “I was so happy for him.” the baby news under wraps.
“We are thrilled for you, sweetheart. You were made to be a mom,” Gifford gushed.
Kotb, who has a tradition of posting inspirational quotes on social media, sparked speculation about the newborn when she shared sweet sentiments about new beginnings earlier in the week.
Last year, Kotb announced she moved in with her longtime boyfriend, Joel Schiffman. The pair have been dating since 2013.
