Radio City gig is chartered

FROM THE Rockettes to . . . charter school kids.

Success Academy founder Eva Moskowitz is taking over Radio City Music Hall for the charter network’s annual “Slam the Exam” state test rally on March 24, the Daily News has learned.

Success Academy officials said the city’s largest charter school network outgrew previous rally venues, including the City College auditorium used last year, when 2,345 students attended the event.

This year, 3,676 kids will visit Radio City for the rally that’s meant to pump kids up so they will ace state tests that begin March 28.

“We are so grateful that Radio City Music Hall worked with us to give Success scholars a once-ina-lifetime experience — an academic pep rally in one of New York City’s most famous landmarks,” Moskowitz said.

Success Academy officials wouldn’t say how much they are spending on the Radio City event, but noted the network is only paying the costs of labor and Radio City will not be making a profit.

Success Academy’s “Slam the Exam” program will be similar to those of past rallies, network officials said.

The charter network’s dance team will perform, school officials will present awards to students for academic excellence and Moskowitz will deliver a keynote speech.

Moskowitz and Success Academy grabbed headlines last year when the network purchased ground-floor classroom space in a luxury Midtown tower for nearly $68 million.

Success Academy reported $49 million in net assets in 2014 and received at least $35 million from hedge fund billionaires in 2016.

The privately run, publicly funded charter network operates 41 city schools with three more set to open this year.
