and “sawed off” her Mohawk, cut her head, kicked her, forced her to strip and shower in front of him, beat and punched her, and threatened her life, according to a Twitter statement from Mack in 2014 and her court testimony.

She says she escaped and ran naked through her neighborhood, knocking on doors until someone provided help. Police collared Koppenhaver in Simi Valley, Calif., after a weeklong manhunt.

Mack’s graphic photos showing her damaged liver, broken ribs, broken face bones and shattered teeth went viral after she posted them to Twitter. Reconstructive surgery later mended her face and teeth.

“I believed I was going to die,” she wrote. “He has beaten me many times before, but never this badly.”

The mixed martial artist has pleaded not guilty to all 34 counts, including attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping, the Las Vegas ReviewJournal reports. If convicted, he could serve a life sentence behind bars.

The two-and-a-half year old case went to trial on Monday. A judge decided in January to allow testimony that the exes had previously discussed a rape fantasy, and the defense attorney has thus far painted them as two “damaged” individuals. On Thursday, the Review-Journal reported, Mack admitted sending Koppenhaver a topless photo the day of the attack.

Koppenhaver, in a March 3 statement, said he had offered to sign plea agreements and take a lie detector test — and accused the district attorney of wanting a “media circus.”

“I found the woman I loved in bed with another man and I made some poor choices, choices that I feel horrible for, regret and know that I must be punished for,” he wrote. “But I DIDN’T do all the crap they’re accusing me of and I do not deserve that crazy amount of time being thrown at me.”
