Building your future at Queens College

-

Agood college equips students for what comes next, whether they enter the workforce or go on to graduate or professional school. A great college, like Queens College, does much more, challenging students and broadening their horizons.

Queens College combines excellent educational programs with a vibrant extracurricular life. The college’s diverse community on campus and the numerous programs that take place off it offer unique learning experiences. Yet, thanks to its affordable tuition, 80 percent of QC graduates earn their degrees without any student loan debt. At Queens College, everyone receives an education on which they can build their future.

Students know what a remarkable value Queens College is. In the metropolitan area, no one graduates more teachers, counselors, and principals than we do. QC also contributes to the city’s talent pool as a powerful economic engine and a leader in tech education, with more undergraduate computer science majors than any New York City college, and the third largest number of accounting and business students in all of New York State.

Queens College has consistently been praised by the Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, and Forbes and Money magazines for its outstanding academics, world-class faculty, and generous financial aid. A January 2017 study by the Equality of Opportunity Project ranked Queens College in the top 1% of all colleges in moving students from poverty to prosperity.

And this fall incoming freshmen can take advantage of QCin4. This voluntary program—the only one of its kind in New York City—offers students the tools, resources, and support they need to complete their degree in four years, thus saving money and being able to jump-start their career or graduate studies.

There is no better place than Queens College for nurturing extraordinary academic achievement. For instance, Queens was recently included on a list of U.S. colleges that produce the most Fulbright scholars, a distinction that speaks volumes about the kind of students we attract and the professors who teach them.

The honors and special programs at Queens College are designed to push you to become the best possible version of you. QC participates in CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College, which supports gifted students with full tuition (New York State residents only) and other benefits. In addition, QC has a Freshman Honors Program, divisional honors programs in the humanities, math and natural sciences, and social sciences, and an honors program just for transfer students.

Travel transforms your perspective, and students are encouraged to take advantage of international academic programs. If travel is not in your plans, you can still explore the world on campus, as students from over 170 countries call Queens College home.

Whether you commute or live on campus, there is life outside the classroom. With nearly 90 clubs and intramural sports, you can explore your interests and meet people who share them. The college calendar is filled with concerts, art exhibitions, readings, and other cultural activities. You can also take advantage of FitzGerald Gymnasium and the Fitness Center. QC is also the only CUNY college that participates in the highly competitive NCAA Division II athletics.
