St. Francis College: value-added approach
Founded more than 150 years ago by the Franciscan Brothers, the mission of St. Francis has always been to help young people achieve their life dreams of personal and professional success by making a quality college education more affordable.
As one of the most affordable private colleges in the New York Metropolitan area and an exceptionally generous financial aid program, St. Francis College’s value-added approach provides an education with all the benefits and opportunities associated with a small private college. It’s no doubt that St. Francis has been consistently ranked as a top college by U.S. News & World Report, Forbes.com and Money magazine.
The College offers more than 70 programs, majors and minors such as Sports Management, Entrepreneurship, Interactive Media and Project Management. Communication Arts majors take advantage of the state-of-the-art HDTV production studio and art theater, while the five-year combined BS/MS degree in Accounting, as well as an MS degree in Professional Accounting takes graduates on to jobs at top four accounting firms. In addition, a five-year combined BA/MA in Psychology offers students the benefits of the same degrees but graduating in less time. A Graduate-level Certificate in Project Management is also growing in popularity and is designed for individuals who want to enhance their project management skills through an executive-level program. The College’s new MFA in Creative Writing program led by new faculty member Man Booker Prize winner Marlon James is the only low-residency program of its kind in New York City; it convenes in two, 10-day residencies per year.
