Don: Teams not rushin’ after Kap ’cause of me

COLIN KAEPERNICK’s career was sacked by Donald Trump — at least, that’s what the president believes.

Trump took to the stage in Louisville, Ky., Monday night to rally his supporters around his plan to sink the Affordable Care Act and replace it with a Republican version of health care.

But he also took a few whacks at free agent Kaepernick — laughing as he told the crowd about a recent report that said no team would sign the NFL player because they feared a tweetstorm from Trump.

Trump and Kaepernick tangled over the summer when the controversial quarterback refused to stand for the national athem while playing for the San Francisco 49ers.

His seasonlong protest was to bring attention to police treatment of minorities in the country.

Trump blasted Kaepernick’s actions at the time.

“I think it’s personally not a good thing, I think it’s a terrible thing. And, you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try, it won’t happen,” he said. On Monday, Trump tried to fire up his Bluegrass crowd by talking about a Bleacher Report article that suggested his Twitter prowess quashed Kaepernick’s career. “There was an article today, it was reported, that NFL owners don’t want to pick him up because they don’t want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump,” Trump said. “I said, ‘If I remember that one I’m gonna report it to the people of Kentucky—because they like it when people actually stand for the American flag.” Trump held his Louisville rally alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. It came after meetings and phone calls in Washington aimed at steadying the troubled legislation designed to erase President Barack Obama’s signature health care law. “We want a very big tax cut, but cannot do that until we keep our promise to repeal and replace the disaster known as ‘Obamacare,”’ Trump told the crowd of thousands in Louisville. “This is our long-awaited chance to finally get rid of ‘Obamacare.’ It’s a long-awaited chance. We’re going to do it,” he said.
