Killer had a good time before London attack

- Terence Cullen

THE SUSPECT who launched the deadly London terror attack was laughing it up the night before he embarked on the violent rampage.

Khalid Masood — who was shot to death Wednesday after he fatally stabbed a police officer — stayed at the Preston Park Hotel in London the night before he used a rented SUV to mow down multiple people before crashing into the gates of Parliament.

“He was very friendly, laughing and joking, telling us stories about where he lived,” hotel manager Sabeur Toumi told Sky News on Friday. “He paid for his room and he went up very peacefully, and we haven’t seen him after that.”

Details and a photo (above) also emerged about the British-born 52-yearold whose attack killed four people and sent dozens more to the hospital.

The Muslim convert was previously named Adrian Russell Ajao and grew up in Kent, England. He had two brothers and came from a church-going family, according to The Guardian.

Police also made “significant” arrests in Manchester and the West Midlands region — where Masood last lived — as they work to determine why he carried out the attack. In all, 11 people have been arrested in raids across Britain, police said. All but one, who was released on bail, remain in custody.

It’s believed that Masood acted alone, but the country’s top anti-terrorism officer, Mark Rowley, said police are still searching for more information about the attacker.
