‘Trump’ bias rant on C train

- Christopher Brennan

AN IRANIAN COUPLE says they were berated by a man on an uptown C train who told them “go back to your country” and threatened to kill them in their seats.

The unidentified man was captured on video by Dr. Mahsa Mehrdad, who posted the encounter on Facebook.

“Donald Trump, Donald Trump is in the house,” the man said to Mehrdad and and her boyfriend, Masih Rahmati, at one point during a profane rant Saturday night.

He later added “I’m going to kill all three of you at one time” and “go back to your country.”

Rahmati, a 32-year-old neuroscience Ph.D. student at New York University, told the Daily News the man (photo) started looking at them when they got on the train downtown, but became more aggressive as the train emptied out and headed north.

“I tried to completely ignore him but then Mahsa looked at him and he said, ‘I will kill you first,’” he said.

The scientist and his girlfriend, a researcher at City College, said they told a police officer about the threats after they got off at 145th St. But were told that the man appeared mentally ill and it was unlikely that police would be able to track him down and arrest him.

Rahmati originally declined to file a police report, but now says that he will do so on Wednesday with the help of officials at NYU.
