Mets-Army at Citi canceled

The Mets have canceled their exhibition game against Army today because of expected inclement weather.

It will not be reschedule­d, because Army has Patriot League games on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans who purchased tickets online at Mets.com or by phone will receive an automatic refund to their credit card.

Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler remained behind in Florida to throw their final innings before the season in favorable weather. Harvey will pitch in an intrasquad game here Friday and Wheeler will do the same on Saturday . ...

Jacob deGrom allowed one run (a solo shot to Bruce) over three innings in a lightheart­ed scrimmage against a mixed squad from the Triple-A and major league club. One of the hits deGrom gave up was to bullpen catcher Dave Racaniello. “That was frustratin­g,” deGrom said with a laugh.

... Wilmer Flores homered off a minor leaguer Harol Gonzalez. Flores played wearing David Wright’s No. 5 jersey. “It was a little big,” Flores said. “It was just fun.”

Purchases made at the Citi Field Box Office by cash will be refunded to the ticket holder upon returning the unused ticket in person.

The Mets were originally scheduled to travel to the Hudson Valley to play the game at West Point. The mid-March snowstorm forced the game to be moved to Queens. − Ackert
