IT’S A BOY!

After weeks of waiting, April the Giraffe finally welcomed her fourth calf Saturday morning.

The giraffe gave birth at Adventure Park in Harpursville, N.Y. A zoo official said the calf was doing well. The zoo later confirmed the calf is male, and they are planning a contest to name him. HERE’S SOMETHING you don’t see every day.

Singer/actor Andy Karl, star of the new Broadway musical “Groundhog Day,” injured his knee performing an onstage leap, casting a shadow over Monday’s scheduled opening night.

Though the two-time Tony nominee finished the Friday night preview performance using a cane, there was no word on whether he would appear for the scheduled debut at the August Wilson Theater.

“I'm home now and I have no broken bones but tweaked my knee after a poorly landed leap frog,” Karl wrote on Instagram after visiting a nearby emergency room.

“I'm gonna get it looked at by specialist before I go back on stage, but know I love this show and this company and everyone that supports me more than you'll ever know.”

Karl just won an Olivier award for best actor and the show received a best musical Olivier for its run in London. He plays the lead role of weatherman Phil Connors, created in the movie by Bill Murray.

The Saturday matinee was canceled, and Karl’s understudy Andrew Call was scheduled to perform in the Saturday night show, according to the show’s publicist. There was no information about upcoming shows, including the Monday opener. Karl, 43, ended his post with the hashtag “#theshowmustgoon ????????? ” The singer/actor, who was sobbing at the end of Friday’s show, also sent a shoutout to the audience. “Thank you all for hanging in there,” he wrote to the crowd. “The last song ‘Seeing You’ was for you guys. Thank you for your support.”
