snagged an advance clip of the audiobook from Audible.com, in which Sidibe recalls seeing people dressed up for Halloween like her character from “Precious.” She was neither amused nor honored. According to Sidibe, the likeness between her and her character ends where the movie ends. “Precious is a survivor, and I refuse to be anyone’s survivor because I prefer to think of myself as a winner,” Sidibe, whose credits also include “Empire” and “American Horror Story,” says in the tome. The 33-year-old star from Brooklyn isn’t alone in thinking she’s a winner, judging by the jacket-copy love notes.

Madsen talked to us about the movie’s most memorable scene, where he gleefully danced around while cutting off a man’s ear.
“I’m not a good dancer and whatever I did I was trying to make something up,” he said. “I was thinking of a Jimmy Cagney movie. I saw James Cagney sort of do something like that and it clicked in my mind right before I had to do the scene and that’s where it came from. I stole that from Cagney.”
Keitel was easily the biggest star going into the film, but even now, he says it’s the role for which many fans remember him.
