says of the inspiration behind his art. Take in the posh space with a few sips of the honey martini or a summer-inspired spiked hibiscus lemonade. Bar bites like fried chicken sandwiches; a brunch burger served with an egg over-easy on top (below); and “shrimp n grits” are also on the menu. No wonder the bread’s so good at newly opened Middle Eastern eatery (34 E. 20th St.) in Flatiron. It’s co-owned by Gadi Peleg, the founder of babka slinging Breads Bakery, who rises to the occasion with savory standouts like the Jerusalem Sesame Bagel made with za’atar herbs, sumac and olive oil; and Yemenite bread. He teamed up with Israeli chef Meir Adoni for the menu that draws from Middle Eastern street food with refined classic dishes designed for sharing — and dipping — like the Palestinian Tartare with beef, smoked eggplant cream, sheep’s yogurt, artichokes and raw tahini. There’s also Gefilte Shrimp with a dashi gelee and pickled veggies.

— formerly called Nobu New York when it was in Tribeca — has relocated to a palatial space at 195 Broadway in the heart of the Financial District. The massive new branch of the Japanese dining destination features classic menu signatures like the Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Jalapeno along with new bites like plancha-grilled octopus with choclo salsa; short ribs with jalapeno salsa (above, right); and bigeye tuna with truffle eryngii mushrooms. It’s five o’clock somewhere, but shots will be served all day at (118A E. 15 St.) in Union Square on Friday. The Mexican eatery will offer free shots of tequila in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Expect festive swag like sombreros, fake mustaches, beads and more, and fill up at the taqueria and tequila bar that runs until 11 p.m. It’s almost rooftop season. So make the climb up to a summer-themed popup above Harold’s Meat + Three that opens Friday inside the Arlo Soho hotel (2 Renwick St.). There will be seasonal bites like Carnitas Tacos and Whole Grilled Fish with tortillas and salsa all summer long. Also expect frozen cocktails like the Rum Runner (spiced rum, blackberry liqueur, creme de banana and orange juice); and Margaritas.
