Mac makes moves to stock up on late picks

keep an eye on that and if he needs any help in respect to that, we’ll definitely be there to help him. He’s a really well spoken young man that has been through some things. We think he has everything together now.”

The defensive end was at a hospital in Las Vegas when he got the call that the Giants drafted him because his grandmother recently had a stroke. She was doing better at the time of the call and Moss was able to tell her he had been drafted.

TACKLING THE O-LINE: Jerry Reese knows how to trade, after all. And he knows how to pick an offensive lineman, too, it turns out.

Reese dealt his seventh-round

Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan was once again active on the trade market on the final day of the NFL Draft, executing three Saturday deals while also adding depth to both sides of the ball.

First, the Jets traded back in the fourth round with the Rams. They also received an additional sixth-round pick in the deal. Gang Green then selected 6-2, 202 pound Cal wide receiver Chad Hansen with their new fourthround pick, No. 141.

It was the second consecutive pick the Jets spent on a wide receiver after selecting Alabama’s ArDarius Stewart in the third round. That’s an ominous sign for Eric Decker, who could be cut later this offseason after he passes a physical, as the Daily News reported in March.

“From a value standpoint, he was higher than the players around him,” Maccagnan said of Hansen.

Nine picks after taking Hansen, Maccagnan filled a glaring need by drafting Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett, who was pick to move up seven spots in the sixth round to grab Pitt offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty. This alone probably won’t fix the Giants’ offensive line woes, but at least they’re adding another option to the roster with experience playing left tackle.

Undrafted free agents: USC OL Chad Wheeler Tenn. St. OL Jessamen Dunker N.D. Nose Tackle Jarron Jones SD State LB Calvin Munson Clemson S Jadar Johnson Temple TE Colin Thompson Wake Forest DT Josh Banks San Jose St. FB Shane Smith second on the national-champion Tigers in receiving last season with 736 yards. Leggett will provide a big body in the middle of the field at 6-5, 258 pounds.

“At Clemson, I played everywhere. I played H-back. I played on the line. I played slot receiver. I played wideout,” Leggett said. “I’ve honestly done it all. I was a finalist for the best tight end in the nation this past year and the year before that. I’m kind of good at what I do.”

The Jets were slated to pick again at No. 160 in the fifth round, but they traded that pick to the Browns along with their seventhround pick (No. 224) in exchange for No. 181 in the fifth round and No. 188 in the sixth round.

Maccagnan later made another trade, his fifth of the draft, this time swapping the No. 191 pick with the Cowboys for a 2018 fifth-rounder.
