25 years in prison for bus slaying

THE hard-partying 25-year- old who stole a delivery truck after a night of boozing with his uncle, model Tyson Beckford, killing an on-duty MTA bus driver, was sentenced Tuesday to 81/3 to 25 years in prison.

Domonic Whilby (below left) was acquitted of murder, but convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and reckless endangerment.

Whilby was booted from 1Oak on W. 17th St. in Chelsea on Feb. 12, 2014. About 5 a.m., Whilby stole an 18,000-pound box truck, which collided with William Pena’s (above right) M14 bus, killing him.

The judge sentenced him to the maximum time allowed under the law on each count but he could still go before a parole board in just a few years.

A large showing of support for Pena, a veteran MTA bus operator, was on hand for the sentencing.

His widow, Nancy Rodriguez, and daughter Gabrielle, 20, consoled each throughout the proceeding.

“He snatched my husband, my friend, the love of my life, my provider and my daughter’s provider — the man that was going to walk Gabrielle down the aisle one day,” Rodriguez said.

She said that the especially horrific way Pena died still “haunts” her. COPS ARRESTED two teens who brought guns to their Staten Island high school, officials said Tuesday.

Police were called to Curtis High School on Hamilton Ave. near St. Marks Place in St. George about 1:15 p.m. on Monday after a student said a classmate was showing another boy a gun .

School officials identified the teen as Obrian Ballenger, 16, and brought him to the principal’s office, where a school safety officer found a .22-caliber pistol in his bag.

The other student, Erik Morris, 18, had a .40-caliber handgun in his backpack, authorities said.

Sources say the teens were just comparing the firearms and were not planning violence. They are charged with weapons possession.
