May 2017 free National Nurses Week webinars & activities

- #fitnursefriday5k is back and better than ever

1:00 p.m. EST

The pace and intensity of work are on the rise. Nurses face pressure from managing increasingly complex populations while addressing expanding regulatory burdens amid fiscal and human resource constraints. Novice nurses report feeling overwhelmed and are unprepared to cope with the complex psychological, social, and spiritual care needs of their patients. Nurse leaders are challenged to provide rapid yet wellthought-out decisions in morally complex work environments.

Regardless of role, new expectations and challenging working environments can place health care professionals at high risk of burnout and stress-related sickness. This is cause for concern as there is a direct and adverse relationship between negative stress and productivity and engagement in the workplace.

How can you develop resilience and stay motivated in the face of constantly increasing demands and infuse meaning and joy into your practice? Tune into this special live event as experts share the latest neuroscience, behavioral and organizational research and strategies.

This webinar will explore indemnity and expense payments for professional liability claims for nurses (RN, LPN) insured under the CNA/NSO program during the five year period from 2011-2015. It will describe the top allegations made against nurses in malpractice lawsuits as well as patient injuries and outcomes. Selected claims asserted against nurses will be discussed. Nurses will be able to examine their own current practices in relation to the allegations of malpractice claims and losses experienced by their peers.

CNE credit only available for attendees at live event.

Join the American Nurses Foundation for a free "Building a Board-Ready Resume" webinar. This session, which was originally hosted at the 2016 ANCC Magnet Conference, is intended to walk participants through the process of transforming a curriculum vitae, which is often ten pages or longer, into a one-page boardfocused biography which is more easily understood by board nominating committees, recruiters, and non-academicians. The speakers are Cynthia Vlasich, the Director of Global Initiatives at Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and Laurie Benson, Executive Director of the Nurses on Boards Coalition.
